Success Living a Balanced Life

Living a Balanced Life of Love Has Its Rewards.

Success is a lifelong journey without a finite destination. It begins with a choice,
commitment, focus and relentless dedication. ~ Todd Hicks, LoveRecon

What is your definition of success? Often we think of success in terms of wealth and possessions. Some of us think of prominence and influence, of reaching the top of our profession. Some envision a life rich in family and friends, full of healthy and rewarding relationships. Achieving optimal health and fitness is the dream of many. A deep spiritual life for some is the goal. What about you? What comes to mind when you hear the word “success?”

Actually, to achieve one of these measures of success while failing at the rest would lead to a miserable experience. As Jesus of Nazareth said, “WhatSuccess living a Balanced Life body iamge does it profit a man to gain the world if he loses his soul?” What good is reaching the top if there is no one there to share the achievement with you? If the success costs you your health, was it really worth it?

Most of us want it all! Is that possible? Yes, depending upon your definition of what it means to succeed in each area. The key to experiencing a measure of success in all of these areas is learning to balance them and create a harmony between them in your life. You will never give equal attention and energy to all of them at the same time, but in different seasons of your life and marriage, you will give more to some than to others.

It is our belief in the LoveRecon that making your spiritual life your priority will enable you to have the balance, harmony and success that you desire in all areas.

Each of you should have a sheet of paper and a pen. On the sheet of paper, rate yourself in each of the following areas on a scale of 1-10, with 10 as the highest and 1 as the lowest.

  • Finances
  • Career
  • Family Life
  • Health
  • Spiritual Life / God
  • Friends/Social Life

Now choose 3 areas you would like to focus on in this season and circle them (They may not be your lowest scores. They could even be your highest scores. The key is “this season.”)
